Author's Tips

Editorial

We will spell check and grammar check your work as required. Editing will take place, as necessary, with all due respect to the content and flow of the article.

 Contributions

Submitted articles must be the author’s original work. If you use text extracted from another source, you must put it in quotes and give credit to the original author in a bibliography at the end of your submission.

 Photos

Photos to be included in the articles should be in jpeg form. Please submit the best quality photo you can take with your digital camera, or reproduce in a scanned version. We will doctor the photos to the appropriate size for the magazine. 

You must indicate where each photo is to be positioned in the text and the caption you want under the photo.  

Example: 

Text: “The carving has been scraped at this point.”

Photo and Caption: “ Figure 1 – The carving after scraping. “ 

Name this picture file with your initials and figure 1.  ie:  (TB-Figure1.jpg) That way we won’t mix up your photos with other contributors.  

Bibliography: 

Please add all notes necessary to properly credit the authors and publications you have quoted from. This should include the author and the publisher with the published date. Copyright clearance is the responsibility of the author.  You should have copies of releases and receipts for any payments of copyright permissions for text, plans or pictures you have submitted, in your possession.

Article publication date: 

Articles will be published at the earliest time possible, and will depend on the size of the deposit of articles awaiting publication. Lengthy articles may be serialized.
